color sketches

Did a few color sketches recently. Playing with light & shadow, color, reflection…just trying out some things. Mostly done in Painter, but did use Photoshop a bit as well. Spent about 10-20 minutes on each (noodled a bit).Anyway, here are a few… sketch-wet pavementsketch-porch lightsketch-just an apple

    I think the top one looks like a book illustration. I like the apple too, but the car in the rain is my favorite.

    For rough sketches, you really nailed tone and lighting! Super nice! And you’re using regular Painter, not the Painter Essentials right?

    Thanks Joe…I have been working on my color & lighting / atmosphere, fun stuff!
    Yes, I am using PainterX with a Wacom Intuos tablet.
